SRINAGAR: Heavy rains lashed several areas of Jammu division on Tuesday, forcing the closure of schools in Rajouri district, officials said.

Chief Education Officer Rajouri announced that all educational institutions in the district will remain closed today in view of the weather conditions.
In Reasi, a landslide at Kandamorh in Tehsil Pouni around 4:20 am blocked the road after soil and trees fell from the hill, an official said.
The stretch, falling under the jurisdiction of P/S Pouni, remained closed for traffic, with clearance work underway to restore movement.
It is important to mention that as per the forecast by the meteorological department, Jammu region is witnessing heavy rainfall. (KNC)
