KPDCL Issues Major Power Shutdown Schedule Across Kashmir From Nov 22–30
SRINAGAR: Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has released a detailed schedule of planned power shutdowns affecting major parts of the Valley over the next several days. The corporation said the outages are necessary for maintenance and upgradation of various grid stations and transmission lines to ensure more reliable supply during the winter months. According to officials quoted by Kashmir News Channel (KNC), Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Global News Service (GNS), or Kashmir News Trust (KNT), the shutdowns will impact several districts on different dates.

KPDCL stated that the 132/33 KV Grid Substation Amargarh will remain shut on November 23, affecting Panzipora, Tarzoo, Hygam, Shair Colony, Arampora, Mahrajpora, Bugoo, Police Station, ADC Watlab, Hathlangoo, Warpora, Dooru, Shiva, Tujjar, Sharief, Shrian, Nowpora, Mazbugh, Reban, Achabal, Doabgah, Ferozpora, Panzulla, Shutloo, Chakloo, Ladoora, Nadihal, Gurseer, Pethseer, PHE, Fruit Mandi, LIS, Dangiwachi, Hachipora and adjoining areas from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The shutdown will further extend to Hadipora, Watrigam, Hachipora, Safalpora, Ganapora, Nowpora, Achbal, Seelu, Bomai, Seer, Chakloo, Ruhama and LIS Ludoora from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

In another scheduled interruption, the 132 KV Budgam–Chadoora transmission line will remain shut on November 22 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, affecting Wathoora, Chadoora, Panzan, Rangar, Sogam, Nagam, Badipora, Hafroo, Lolipora, Hayatpora, Kakawring, Tilsera, Charar-e-Sharief, Nagbal, Darwan, Yousmarg and surrounding areas.
The 33 KV Grid Station Kulgam will also undergo maintenance on November 23, impacting Chambgund, Ahmadabad, Khul, Aharbal, Yaripora, Behibagh, Nillow, Rambhama, DH Pora, Nagam, Redwani, Kulgam, Sangus, Mohammadpora, DK Marg, Devsar, Pahloo, Gasran, Ashmuji, Chawalgam, Kilam and nearby localities from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Similarly, the 33 KV Watrehail Tap line will remain affected on November 26 and 29 between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm, hitting Watrehail, Samsaan, the PHE Substation and Parthan. On November 25, the 33 KV Bemina–JVC line will be shut down from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, disrupting supply to JVC Hospital, Children’s Hospital, State Motor Garage, Hajj House, Forensic Lab, PC Depot, Qamarwari, Barthana and nearby areas.
The 33 KV Bemina–Fatehkadal line is scheduled for shutdown on November 23, 26 and 30 from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, affecting Bishember Nagar, Babademb, Gousia Hospital, Bohrikadal, Nowpora, KK Mohalla, Barbarshah and its surroundings.
Shutdowns on November 25 and 30 will impact Yangpora, Baroosa, Old Dab, Cheki Baba Salun, Sainik School, Rabitar, Kondbal, GCET Safapora, Lar, Waliwar, Watlar, Repora, Tulmulla, Dangerpora, Theeru, Larsun and nearby areas from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.
In Pulwama district, the 33 KV Pampore–Pulwama line will remain shut on November 24, 27 and 30 from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, affecting Kakapora, Newa, Pahoo, Nehama, Zadoora, Gudoora, Parigam and other localities. Additionally, Model Town, Kapra, Essential, Noorbagh and adjoining areas will face outages on November 23 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm due to shutdown of the 33 KV Sidiq Colony Tap line.
KPDCL has appealed to consumers to cooperate during the temporary cuts, stating that the maintenance work is crucial to improve grid stability and ensure uninterrupted power supply during peak winter demand.
