List of 20 Schools Disaffiliated and 3 schools downgraded by CBSE
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has disaffiliated 20 schools for enrolling dummy students and ineligible candidates. Further, three schools’ affiliation status has been downgraded. This was announced by CBSE Secretary Himanshu Gupta on Friday, March 22.
The move follows surprise inspections conducted across CBSE schools nationwide to ensure adherence to affiliation and examination bye-laws. These inspections unearthed various malpractices, including the enrolment of dummy students, ineligible candidates, and inadequate record maintenance.
Among the disaffiliated schools, five are situated in Delhi, while others are in Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Assam, and Madhya Pradesh. The downgraded schools are in Delhi, Punjab, and Assam.
