SRINAGAR: The Chief Engineer, JKPTCL Kashmir, on Saturday announced scheduled power shutdowns in parts of Srinagar and Ganderbal districts to facilitate repair and maintenance works on transmission lines and grid stations.

According to the official, power supply to Khonmoh Old, Balhama, Wuyan, TCI, Khyber, SAIFCO, Covid Hospital and IE Khonmoh areas will remain affected on 28 September 2025, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, due to repair and maintenance of the 132 KV and 33 KV switchyard at the 132/33 KV, 100 MVA Grid Sub-Station Khonmoh and associated Pampore-Khonmoh transmission line.
Additionally, routine and preventive maintenance will be carried out on the 132 KV lines and bays at Grid Station Alasteng. For this purpose, shutdown of the 33 KV Alusteng-Zakura, Alusteng-Nagbal and Alusteng-Power House feeders has been scheduled for 24 September 2025, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
During this period, power supply will remain affected in Ahmad Nagar, Umerhair, Buchpora, Shuhama, Bakura, Darend, Nagbal, Fatehpora, Gadoora, Tulbagh, Chunduna, Shairpathri, Beehama, Arampora, Arch, Nuner, Manigam, Duderhama, Malshaibagh, Wayil, Gutlibagh and adjoining areas.
JKPTCL has urged residents to bear with the inconvenience, assuring that the maintenance works are essential to ensure reliable power supply in the coming months.
