CM Omar Abdullah Allocates ₹261 Crore for NLU, Legal Infrastructure & Maternity Hospital

SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced major allocations while presenting the state budget today. A total of Rs 175 crore has been earmarked for legal infrastructure development.

This includes Rs 50 crore for the establishment of a National Law University to provide quality legal education and produce skilled professionals in the field of law. Additionally, Rs 125 crore has been set aside for infrastructure improvements to ensure better access to justice, including the construction of residential quarters for advocates to improve their working conditions.

The Chief Minister also announced Rs 86 crore for the construction of a 250-bed Maternity and Child Care Hospital in Anantnag. The project aims to enhance maternal and child healthcare services in the region.
