Cold Wave Grips Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh: Temperatures Plunge Below Freezing
The Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh regions are reeling under a severe cold wave as temperatures dropped drastically, with several areas recording sub-zero temperatures. The frigid conditions have left residents battling biting cold, while tourists are witnessing the region’s winter charm.
Kashmir Region: Sub-Zero Chill in the Valley
The Kashmir Valley experienced some of the coldest temperatures of the season, with Zojila shivering at a bone-numbing -26.0°C, making it the coldest spot in the region. Gulmarg, a favorite among skiers, recorded -11.5°C, while Pahalgam registered -8.4°C. Srinagar, the summer capital, saw a minimum temperature of -3.5°C. Kupwara, however, stood out as the warmest area in the valley at 0.1°C.

Jammu city, however, experienced a relatively moderate 7.1°C, with Kathua being the warmest in the region at 9.0°C.
