Driver Dies as Car Plunges into Dal Lake

Srinagar, Apr 22, CNS: A man died after his car plunged into the Dal Lake near Centaur Hotel on Tuesday. The Swift vehicle (JK01N-7373) veered off the road while navigating a curve and rolled into the lake.
The driver, identified as Waheed Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rashid Dar of Chekpora, Pulwama, was pulled out by River Police and SDRF personnel but was declared dead after medical examination.
A woman accompanying him was rescued shortly after the mishap.
Officials suspect the driver may have suffered a heart attack before the vehicle crashed. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. (CNS)
