IUST Releases Waiting List for Assistant Professor Recruitment in Chemistry

Awantipora, J&K: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) has issued the waiting list for the recruitment of Assistant Professors in the Department of Chemistry. This follows Advertisement Notice No. 02 of 2019, dated 20-02-2019, which invited applications for multiple faculty positions, including three positions of Assistant Professor in Chemistry.

Key Developments: Upon recommendations from the Selection Committee and receipt of CID clearance, appointment orders were issued to selected candidates. One candidate’s appointment was kept in abeyance after a revised CID report flagged adverse findings (CID/VB/EVS/22/28614 dated 05-12-2022). Following instructions from the UT Level Screening Committee and the Higher Education Department, J&K, the candidate’s appointment was cancelled ab initio vide University Order No. 46 (Est.) of 2022 and 48 (Est.) of 2022.

After receiving a representation from a candidate on the waiting list and subsequent committee recommendations, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor approved utilizing the waiting list to fill the vacancy caused by the cancellation.

Waiting List Notification: The waiting list is now officially operationalized for the post of Assistant Professor – Chemistry. This move ensures the vacancy caused by the cancellation of the earlier appointment is duly filled.

Note: This notification is subject to the outcome of pending petitions in any competent Court of Law.
