Weather Advisory for Jammu and Kashmir: Temporary Suspension of Farm Operations Recommended
In light of the upcoming weather conditions, the Director of the Meteorological Department, Dr. Mukhat Ahmad, has advised farmers to temporarily halt their farm activities. The weather forecast for the region indicates mainly dry conditions from November 07 to November 15, 2023.
However, Dr. Ahmad has pointed out that on November 09, there is a likelihood of light rain in the plains and light snowfall in elevated areas, including locations such as Razdan Pass, Sadhna Top, Sinthan Top, Zojila, and Mughal Road.
On November 07, the weather will be predominantly dry. On November 08, there is a potential for fairly to generally cloudy weather with forecasts of light rain in the plains and light snow in some elevated regions.
Dr. Ahmad has further stated that November 10 is expected to bring fairly to generally cloudy weather. Additionally, light rain and snow are anticipated in isolated areas during the morning hours.
For the period from November 11 to November 15, mainly dry weather conditions are predicted, with a notable drop in minimum temperatures.
The Meteorological Department also advises farmers to suspend their agricultural operations, particularly on November 09. They should be aware of possible temporary disruptions in surface transportation on elevated routes due to slippery conditions and should plan their travel accordingly.
