Lightning Strike in Jammu & Kashmir: 2 Dead, 1 Injured, Dozens of Sheep Killed: SRINAGAR: Two people died and one was injured after lightning struck Chantu Gali near Dugga in Tehsil Arnas, Reasi district, on Saturday evening.
Unidentified Pedestrian Killed in Speeding Vehicle Accident on NH-144A Near Rah Salyote.
An official said that the incident occurred around 8 PM within the jurisdiction of Police Station Arnas, following a sudden cloudburst and intense lightning.
The deceased have been identified as Abdul Rasheed (60), son of Kalu, and Shahnaz Begum (25), wife of Mukhtiyar Ahmed. Both were residents of Village Lamsora, Tehsil Bhomag in Reasi.
Another woman, Gulzar Begum (55), wife of Abdul Rasheed, was injured in the incident. She is also from Lamsora village and was shifted for medical treatment, the official added.
The lightning also led to the death of around 40 goats and sheep. A police team from Police Post Dhansal reached the site and carried out necessary formalities. (JKNS)
