SRINAGAR: An 18-year-old girl died after being struck by a speeding dumper near Palli Morh in Kathua district of Jammu, officials said on Saturday.

The victim, identified as Sarika, a resident of Nihalpur, sustained critical injuries in the accident and was rushed to GMC Kathua for treatment. However, she succumbed to her injuries soon after, officials confirmed.
A police official said a case has been registered, and the driver has been arrested.
Meanwhile, outraged locals blocked the highway, demanding strict action against the driver and urging authorities to implement stronger safety measures to prevent such accidents in the future. (KNT)
