SRINAGAR: A 37-year-old lineman died after falling from an electric pole in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday afternoon, officials said.

Farooq Ah Wani, a lineman with the Power Development Department (PDD) from Aripath, Budgam, was repairing an HT line in his native village when the incident occurred
Farooq was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital in Budgam and later transferred to SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter. (KS)
