40 Shifted to Isolation Centre in Rajouri Following Mysterious Deaths

SRINAGAR: Following the hospitalisation of four more individuals from Budhal due to a mysterious illness, the government on Wednesday evening relocated several families who had been in close contact with the deceased or sick to an isolation centre.

An official said that around 40 people were transferred to the isolation centre established at the Government Nursing College in Rajouri.

He said that the authorities have made arrangements to accommodate up to 100 people at the centre.

According to an order issued by the District Magistrate of Rajouri, a comprehensive surveillance plan has been implemented, with different departments directed to make arrangements for the people at the centre.

The order reads, “SSP Rajouri will ensure necessary security arrangements at the Government Nursing College in Rajouri and deploy police personnel to monitor and maintain strict restrictions on unauthorized entry/exit movements.”

“The Principal of GMC Rajouri has been tasked with ensuring a team of doctors is stationed at the Government Nursing College in Rajouri, working 24/7. CEO Rajouri will arrange 100 single-bedded mattresses and 100 beds. The Deputy District Election Officer will ensure the installation of CCTV cameras in the kitchen and ensure their proper functioning. The Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Rajouri will provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and hair oil as required,” the order reads.

It continues: “The CMO Rajouri will ensure that a medical team and an ambulance are stationed at the Nursing College immediately. He will also keep necessary medicines available and ensure that any medications being taken by individuals are checked and replaced with quality medicines if required.”

“Executive Engineer JKPDCL will ensure the electricity supply is maintained properly and all switches and light/socket points are functional at the Government Nursing College.”

“The Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Rajouri has been directed to make all necessary arrangements for drinking water, washroom usage, and other related activities. The Accounts Officer at the DC office Rajouri and Assistant Director of Food have been directed to make arrangements for 300 mattresses, 300 pillows, 300 bedsheets, and 1,000 blankets, as well as ensure the availability of cooked food, baby food (such as Cerelac), and milk for the shifted families at the Nursing College Rajouri, it adds.

Executive Officer MC Rajouri will arrange 100 single-bedded mattresses and 50 beds for the families, ensure daily cleanliness, maintain the functionality of toilets, install mobile toilets as required, and provide dustbins on both floors.

“Assistant Commissioner of Food Safety Rajouri has been directed to ensure proper testing of food and water before serving, while the Principal of Govt HSS Rajouri and other officers have been directed to be stationed at the centre and keep a record of all items,” the order reads. (KNO)
