SRINAGAR: Two back-to-back earthquakes were reported in Baramulla of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday early morning.

As per the initial reports, no loss of life or property has been reported in the earthquakes today.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake’s magnitude was recorded at 4.9 on the Richter Scale that struck Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir.

Magnitude 4.9 earthquake hit Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday at 6:45 am, reported National Centre for Seismology (NCS). In a post on X (formerly Twitter), it stated, “EQ of M: 4.9, On: 20/08/2024 06:45:57 IST, Lat: 34.17 N, Long: 74.16 E, Depth: 5 Km, Location: Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir.”
