Winter Vacations in Kashmir Schools to Begin Post-Exams: DSEK
Srinagar: The Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Tassaduq Hussain Mir, announced on Saturday that winter vacations in the Valley will be decided only after the completion of the ongoing annual examinations for classes 1 to 9.
Mir emphasized that the government’s primary focus is to ensure smooth conduct of exams, which are scheduled to commence on Monday. These exams are being held under a uniform date sheet for all schools.
“There will be no winter vacations before the completion of examinations,” he stated, highlighting the government’s commitment to maintaining academic discipline.
Action Against Capitation Fees in Private Schools
Addressing concerns over capitation and admission fees charged by some private schools, Mir reaffirmed that the Fee Fixation Committee regulates all fees and charges.
“We have made it clear that no private school is allowed to demand capitation or admission fees from parents,” he said, urging parents to report any violations. The department will take strict action against schools found indulging in such practices, he added.
The education department’s decision to delay winter vacations aims to ensure the successful completion of the academic calendar, aligning with its broader goals of maintaining educational standards.
