Srinagar,Feb 21 (SNO):The Directorate of School Education, Kashmir, has issued a directive mandating the immediate repatriation of all teaching staff deployed for administrative duties in various offices and departments. The order, numbered 51-DSEK of 2025, emphasizes that lecturers, masters, and teachers working outside their educational institutions without formal approval must return to their original teaching roles without fail.

According to the News Agency—Srinagar News Observer (SNO) The directive comes after multiple prior instructions, including Government Order No. 1691-JK (EDU) of 2021 and Order No. 163-DSEK of 2024, were reportedly ignored. The department has noted continued unauthorized deployments despite explicit orders to ensure teachers focus on their primary responsibility—educating students.

According to the order, non-teaching staff of the School Education Department who are working outside their parent department without formal approval must also return to their substantive posts immediately. Any Drawing and Disbursing Officer found to have processed salaries for staff in violation of this directive will face strict disciplinary action, including possible recommendation for RDA (Regular Departmental Action).

The Chief Education Officers have been instructed to submit compliance reports listing affected employees, their actual place of posting, unauthorized deployment details, and the date of their return to their teaching assignments. The Chief Accounts Officer will oversee the implementation to prevent further salary withdrawals against defaulters.

This move is expected to streamline administrative discipline and refocus the education sector on its core objective—improving learning outcomes for students across Jammu and Kashmir.—(SNO)
