Intrusion Attempt Foiled: In a successful bid to thwart an infiltration attempt, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel shot dead a Pakistani intruder along the International Border (IB) in Jammu during the night of April 4 and 5.
According to official sources, the incident took place near the Abdulian border outpost in the R S Pura sector. The intruder was observed by alert BSF troops attempting to cross the IB under the cover of darkness.
“A suspicious movement was detected in the Jammu border area. The individual was challenged multiple times but continued to advance,” said a BSF spokesperson.
Perceiving a potential threat, the troops responded with controlled fire, neutralising the intruder. The identity and purpose of the individual are yet to be established.
Following the incident, the BSF informed local police authorities, who arrived at the spot, retrieved the body, and initiated legal procedures, including a postmortem examination.
The BSF has also lodged a strong protest with its Pakistani counterparts regarding the infiltration attempt.
