SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday said they have solved the case of a minor boy’s mysterious death in Lalipora area of Kunzer, North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, with a 14-year-old juvenile confessing to involvement in the incident.

According to police, on June 12, 2025, Police Station Kunzer received information about an eight-year-old boy (name withheld), a resident of Baandpora Lalipora, who was found unconscious in a field near his home. The child was rushed to JVC Srinagar by family members but succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of 17 June.
A case was registered, and a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) was called for scientific analysis. A comprehensive investigation was launched to uncover the facts surrounding the case.
During the investigation, a 14-year-old boy confessed to being involved in the incident leading to the minor’s death. He has been taken into custody under the Juvenile Justice Act and will be produced before the competent authority. Police have also detained two individuals related to the accused for further questioning as multiple angles continue to be explored.
“The matter is being investigated in a professional, thorough, and impartial manner, and all necessary legal procedures are being followed,” a police spokesperson said in a statement.kashmir life
