SRINAGAR: A massive search and rescue operation has been launched at Railpathri near Cheshma Point to trace a missing Amarnath Yatri who is suspected to have fallen into a nallah during the pilgrimage.

Officials said that the missing pilgrim has been identified as Surinder Pal Arora, son of Gain Chand Arora, a resident of Ludhiana.
He reportedly went missing near Cheshma Point at Railpathri while on his way to the holy Amarnath cave. He is suspected to have fallen into a nallah, they said.
Soon after the report was received, Mountain Rescue Teams (MRTs) of Jammu and KashmirAMat Armed Police, SDRF, ITBP, and local police swung into action and launched a joint operation in the area.
The search operation is ongoing amid challenging terrain and water flow conditions. Authorities are using all available resources to trace the missing pilgrim. (JKNS)
