Eligibility Criteria for Anganwadi Workers

To be considered for the role of Anganwadi Worker, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. You must be a domicile of the UT of J&K.
  2. Women candidates between the ages of 18 and 37 are eligible.
  3. You should be a resident of the electoral ward where the Anganwadi Centre is situated. Your name in the voter list for the ward will serve as proof of residence. If your name appears in the voter list along with your parents, you must provide a certificate issued by the concerned Tehsildar, certifying that you are unmarried. In case of any disputes regarding residence, a residence proof certifying the ward of residence from the concerned SDM/ACR will be considered.
  4. The minimum qualification required for an Anganwadi Worker is 10+2, and the maximum qualification is graduation. If there are no 10+2 pass candidates available in the ward, a 10+2 pass candidate from an adjoining ward may be considered with the prior approval of the Mission Director, Mission POSHAN.
  5. If a suitable candidate is not available in the adjoining ward, a candidate from the nearest ward within the Panchayat can be considered, subject to the approval of the MD, Mission POSHAN.
  6. Selection will be based solely on merit, considering the marks obtained in 10+2. No other criteria will be taken into account.
  7. In case of a tie in merit between eligible candidates, preference will be given to the candidate with a higher age.
  8. Candidates with qualifications higher than graduation will not be considered for this position.

Eligibility Criteria for Anganwadi Helpers

To be considered for the role of Anganwadi Helper, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. You must be a domicile of the UT of J&K.
  2. Women candidates between the ages of 18 and 37 are eligible.
  3. The minimum qualification required for an Anganwadi Helper is matriculation.
  4. If there are no matriculate candidates available in the ward, candidates with a qualification not less than 8th standard may be considered.
  5. The committee will select the most destitute/needy married woman of the ward as a helper, based on the fulfillment of the qualification criteria. If no married candidate is available, unmarried candidates may be considered.

Additional Points to Note

  • In case an eligible candidate is available within the family of retiring AWWs/AWHs, the said candidate will qualify for an additional two percent points.

Document Verification

  1. You must appear for document verification with the original documents, as well as self-attested photocopies of each document, as per the Advertisement Notification. Ensure that you possess the prescribed academic qualification, Domicile Certificate, and other necessary documents on or before the last date of submission of the application form.
  • Marks sheet(s)/Diploma/Degree of the prescribed qualification for the post as per the Advertisement Notification.
  • Date of Birth/Matriculate Certificate.
  • Domicile Certificate.
  • Unmarried Certificate (where required).
  1. Please bring two recent passport-sized color photographs.
  2. You must provide one original photo ID proof, such as an Aadhaar Card or Voter ID card.

Affidavit Submission

All applicants must submit an affidavit stating the following facts:

  1. All documents submitted are correct, without any mismatch, scanning, duplicate, or fallacious in nature. If any incorrect information or situation mentioned above is found, the candidature may be canceled, and legal action may be taken.
  2. The maximum qualification for the vacancy of an Anganwadi worker is Graduation, and for an Anganwadi Helper, it is Class X. The responsibility of proving the truthfulness of this information lies with the deponent.
  3. The deponent has read and is well-versed with all salient features of HR policy no. 222-JK (SWD) of 2022, dated 30.11.2022, and acknowledges its applicability.
