Army Driver, Three Civilians Injured in JK’s Poonch Accident

SRINAGAR: An Army driver and three civilians were injured after an Army vehicle met with an accident in Poonch district on Monday, the Army said.

Army said the vehicle was involved in a road accident on the Poonch–Surankote route. “Unfortunately, the incident resulted in injuries to three civilians and one Army driver. All injured individuals received immediate medical attention and are in stable condition,” the statement read.

The spokesman added that the Army is extending full support for the treatment and care of the injured civilians. A formal investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the accident.

“While road accidents can occur with any vehicle—military or civilian—we recognise the importance of exercising utmost caution. The Army is committed to taking all necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future. Appropriate action will be taken as per the law of the land,” the statement said.

The Army also urged the public to avoid speculation and await verified updates. (GNS)
