Babar wrote in his note- I remember well the moment when I got a call from PCB to lead Pakistan in 2019. In the last four years, I have experienced many ups and downs on and off the field, but I have aimed wholeheartedly and with full dedication at maintaining the pride and honor of Pakistan. Taking Pakistan to the number one position in Tests in the cricket world was the result of the collective efforts of the players, coaches and management, but I would like to express my gratitude to the Pakistan cricket fans for their unwavering support during this journey.
Babar wrote- Today, I am stepping down as the captain of Pakistan in all formats. It is a difficult decision, but I think this is the right time for this decision. I will continue to represent Pakistan as a player in all three formats. I am here to support the new captain and the team with my experience and dedication. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the Pakistan Cricket Board for entrusting me with this important responsibility.
