Cyber Police Kashmir Intensifies Crackdown on Anti-National Social Media Activities

Srinagar: In a decisive action against online anti-national propaganda, radicalization, and the glorification of militancy, Cyber Police Kashmir has escalated its monitoring and enforcement measures over the past three months. The crackdown aims to curb the spread of misinformation and extremist narratives that threaten national security.

According to an official statement released on Thursday, authorities have identified 200 social media accounts actively involved in disseminating anti-national content. Out of these, nearly 100 accounts are being operated from outside the country, making the challenge more complex. These social media handles have been flagged across multiple platforms as part of the ongoing efforts to counter digital threats.

To mitigate the influence of such elements, several of these accounts have been blocked. Additionally, legal proceedings have been initiated against key individuals responsible for spreading propaganda, with multiple FIRs filed under relevant criminal laws. The statement also mentions that security measures have been taken against several individuals involved in such activities.

Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious online activities to law enforcement agencies. The Cyber Police Kashmir has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a secure and responsible digital space, actively countering online threats that pose risks to peace and stability.
