Srinagar, June 19: Amid the prevailing heat wave and the soaring temperature in Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir government is mulling to announce the summer vacation for schools from July 01 of 2025.

In an exclusive interaction with Greater Kashmir, the Education Minister Sakina Itoo Thursday said the government was considering announcing the summer vacation for the schools from July 01 of 2025.
“We are planning to announce summer vacation from July 1 of 2025 for one week. We will assess the weather condition before announcing any extension in the summer vacations,” Sakina Itoo told Greater Kashmir.
The statement comes amid the growing demand from the stakeholders for the announcement of summer vacation for the schools.
As already reported, an independent weather agency has predicted a forecast of intense heatwave till Saturday for Srinagar.
On Thursday, Srinagar recorded the highest June temperature in the last two decades.
