Government Announces Promotions in J&K Secretariat

The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued two significant promotion orders for its employees, as recommended by the Departmental Promotion Committee in a meeting held on 12 December 2024.
1. Promotion of Multitasking Staff (Orderly) to Junior Assistant
- Mr. Aftab Farooq, a Multitasking Staff member (Orderly) in the J&K Secretariat, has been promoted to the position of Junior Assistant.
- This promotion is in the Pay Level-4 (₹25,500–₹81,100) and is effective prospectively.
2. Promotion of Junior Assistant to Senior Assistant
- Mr. Tarun Sharma, a Junior Assistant in the J&K Secretariat, has been elevated to the position of Senior Assistant.
- The revised pay level is Level-5 (₹29,200–₹92,300), also effective prospectively
Both promotions are subject to the outcome of pending writ petitions, if any, before competent courts of law.
