Essential Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Horticulture (Fruit Science, Genetics, Plant Breeding/Plant Breeding) with a 4/5 years of Bachelor’s Degree.
- Candidates with a postgraduate degree in Basic Sciences (with 3 years of Bachelor’s and 2 years of Master’s degree) must have NET qualifications and 2 years of research experience as per the guidelines mentioned in OM No. Edn. 6/24/2014/HRD dated 13 July 2015.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Research experience in DUS Testing.

Selection Criteria:
The selection process will be based on the following criteria:
- Essential Qualification: 55 marks
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.): 05 marks
- Research Publications: 10 marks (1 mark for each research publication)
- Awards: 05 marks (1 mark for each award)
- Experience: 05 marks
- Personal Interview: 20 marks
Age Limit:
- The age of the candidate should be between 21 to 45 years as of 31st October 2024.
- Age relaxation will be given as per the GoI/ICAR rules.
Job Duration:
- The initial appointment will be for one year, which can be extended based on performance or till the availability of funds/tenure of the project, whichever is earlier.
- This is a contractual position with no claim for regular appointment in ICAR-CITH, Srinagar.
