SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended Asif Ahmad Bhat, a Section Officer in the Agriculture Production Department, following his arrest by the CBI’s Anti-Corruption Branch, Jammu.

The suspension, effective from March 7, was issued under Rule 31(2) of the J&K Civil Services (Classification, Control, and Appeal) Rules, 1956.
The order, issued by Principal Secretary Shailendra Kumar, IAS, reads that the move is to facilitate an ongoing CBI investigation, details of which remain undisclosed.
