J&K: AEE Suspended for Snow Clearance Negligence
SRINAGAR: The Deputy Commissioner of Doda has suspended an Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of the PMGSY Division, citing suboptimal performance and negligence in clearing snow-blocked rural roads. The suspension follows reports of dereliction of duty by the AEE.
An inquiry revealed that the AEE had left his station without prior authorisation and failed to resume his duties despite repeated directives. This absence caused delays in road clearance, hindering residents’ access to essential services. The administration noted that such conduct is unacceptable, particularly during emergencies requiring prompt action,” reads an order.

The order highlighted that the AEE had been reprimanded multiple times for a lax approach to his responsibilities. He has now been attached to the 24/7 Emergency Control Room at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Doda until further notice.
To ensure smooth operations, Mukesh Kumar, Assistant Executive Engineer (PWD, Doda), and Umar Jan, Assistant Engineer (PWD, Bhagwah), have been tasked with overseeing the PMGSY Sub Divisions in addition to their own duties.
