JKMEGA Commends Govt on Placements, Calls for Seniority-Based Promotions

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Mechanical Engineering Graduates Association (JKMEGA) has thanked the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Deputy Chief Minister and PWD (R&B) Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary, and Principal Secretary PWD (R&B) Anil Kumar Singh (IAS) for their role in the recent placements in the engineering cadre.

In a statement, JKMEGA welcomed Anil Kumar Singh as the new Principal Secretary and said that it looks forward to progress in the PWD (R&B) Department and Mechanical wing under his leadership.

JKMEGA President, Er Ferdous Ahad Bhat, acknowledged the recent senior-level placements and urged the administration to prioritise pending promotions at the Assistant Engineer (AE) and Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) levels. The association demanded that these be carried out based on seniority and merit.

The association also called for the immediate submission of all pending regularisation proposals to the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) to address the ongoing issue of ad hoc and in-charge arrangements.

JKMEGA said that a timely and transparent promotion mechanism is essential for internal cadre progression and effective public service delivery across Jammu and Kashmir.

The association reiterated its willingness to work with the administration for the welfare of the engineering community and service delivery.
