SRINAGAR: The Public Works (R&B) Department has promoted 20 Assistant Executive Engineers and Incharge Assistant Executive Engineers (Mechanical) as Incharge Executive Engineers.

The placements, pending for a long time, were finalised following the intervention of Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, who has been pressing for timely promotions and addressing stagnation in the department.
Congratulating the officers, the Deputy Chief Minister said the step is expected to enhance departmental efficiency and accountability in the mechanical engineering wing of the PWD (R&B).
He expressed hope that the officers will deliver in their new roles and contribute to infrastructure development and service delivery across Jammu and Kashmir.
The engineering fraternity in J&K expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Deputy CM Surinder Choudhary for supporting career advancement in the department.
