According to the Chief Engineer, the shutdown is required to facilitate installation of 36 KV and 145 KV current transformers (CTs) on the 33 KV and 132 KV sides of the 80 MVA Power Transformer at a Grid Station, along with dismantling of old CTs.

As a result, the 33 KV Magam, Kongamdara and Beerwah lines will remain shut from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. The 33/11 KV receiving stations at Magam, Mazhama, Kongamdara, Ahmedpora, Dhobiwan, Kunzer, Khag, Beerwah, Arizal and Aripanthan will remain off, affecting power supply to adjoining villages including Mazhama, Aripanthan, Magam, Budren, Kunzer, Beerwah, Arizal, Khag and several other areas.

Separately, the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced pruning of tree branches along the 33 KV Bemina–Barbarshah–TRC Tap line (backup line) on the same day from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Officials clarified that no receiving station or area will face power disruption during this operation.
