SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns in various areas from March 12 to 24, 2025 to facilitate maintenance and improvement works.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the outages are necessary for stabilisation, shifting of electrical utilities, and augmentation of conductors. Several 33KV feeder lines and 33/11KV receiving stations will be affected, leading to temporary power cuts in multiple localities.
On March 12, power supply in Lar and its adjoining areas will be disrupted from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM due to the shutdown of the 33KV Badampora-Lar top line.
On March 13 and 15, outages will impact Ajas, SK Bala, Sadunara, and nearby areas from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM due to the 33KV Potushai-Nadihal tap line shutdown. Additionally, power supply in Hajin, Chandeergra, Hakbara, Preng, Madwan, Batwina, Wangipora, and Nowgam will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on the same dates due to shutdowns of the 33KV Badampora/Army Hakbara and Badampora-Wangipora tap lines.
Furthermore, KPDCL has scheduled power cuts on March 13, 17, 20, and 24 from 09:00 AM to 03:30 PM in Mehand, Sirhama, Khiram, Shalgul, Nowshera, and surrounding areas for the augmentation and stabilisation of the 33KV Halmullah-Khiram line.
The KPDCL has urged residents to make necessary arrangements and cooperate during the maintenance period to ensure improved power stability in the affected areas.
