New Traffic Rule : After Delhi, this rule came into force in Mumbai, police is strictly following it

New Traffic Rule: It has been made mandatory for all the passengers traveling in the car to wear seat belts from tomorrow i.e. 1 November 2022. On October 14, the Mumbai Police issued a notification saying that from November 1, 2022, it would be mandatory for the driver and co-passengers to wear seat belts.

In its notification, the Mumbai Police said that whoever drives a motor vehicle without wearing a safety belt or carries passengers not wearing a seat belt, will be punishable. 

The Mumbai Police had also said that all passengers in motor vehicles that do not have the facility of seat belts will also have to wear seat belts. The due date for this was also fixed as November 1, 2022.

 This thing said in the notification

 The notification said, ‘All motor vehicle drivers and all passengers in vehicles, whosoever travel on the road of Mumbai city, are informed that, with effect from 01/11/2022, for drivers and all passengers, the seat while traveling Wearing a belt will be mandatory. Otherwise action will be taken under section 194 (b) (1) of the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act 2019.

Let us tell you that in September, to strengthen road safety rules, the Delhi Traffic Police launched a special campaign to encourage people to use rear seat belts. He was fined Rs 1,000 for not wearing the belt.

The Union Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways issued draft rules making it mandatory for car manufacturers to install seat belt alarms on all seats of cars. Earlier in September, Union minister Nitin Gadkari had said that from now on it will be mandatory for all passengers in a car to wear seat belts, including those on the rear seats, and flouting the rule will attract a fine.
