       “No Summer Vacation Declared Yet for Kashmir Schools, Confirms Sakina Itoo”: SRINAGAR: Education Minister Sakina Masood Itoo on Friday said that no final decision has been taken regarding the announcement of summer vacations for schools in the Kashmir division.

“No final decision has been taken with regard to summer vacations. We are monitoring the situation closely. We cannot decide on vacations based solely on the current heatwave,” Education Minister Sakina Masood Itoo said while speaking to reporters.

Minister Sakina added that, in view of students facing difficulties during morning assemblies, the government has already modified school timings.

“We have adjusted school hours as an immediate step and will decide about vacations depending on how the weather unfolds,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department, said the weather is generally hot and dry, with the possibility of a brief spell of light rain at isolated places, mainly towards the late afternoon. (JKNS)
