    North Kashmir: Two Die in Separate Drowning Incidents  : SRINAGAR: Two drowning deaths were reported in North Kashmir on Monday in separate incidents in Baramulla and Kupwara districts.

In Chanibal Pattan, a local youth identified as Tajamul Hussain Dar, a resident of Chanibal, drowned and was later found unconscious. He was shifted to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, officials  said.

“In another incident, a 14-year-old boy identified as Imran Ahmad of Najar Mohalla Darpora died after drowning in the Khadkul stream near the Darpora dam in Kupwara. Locals launched a rescue operation and managed to retrieve the boy, who was then taken to NTPHC Lalpora. He was declared dead on arrival, sources said,” they said.

Police have taken cognisance of both incidents and initiated investigations. (JKNS)
