SRINAGAR: A 45-year-old man lost his life after being trapped inside a well in Sogam area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday afternoon.

Officials said that the incident took place at Lassipora village of Sogam when two men slipped and fell into a well accidentally while cleaning it.
“One of them, identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Sofi (20), was rescued in time, while the other, Abdul Rashid Sofi (45), a resident of Daramwari, got trapped,” officials said.
Police, SDRF, and local volunteers launched a rescue operation after which the body was retrieved. Cognisance of the incident has been taken and further investigation started. (KNC)
