“Poonch Tragedy: 9 Killed, 33 Injured in Jammu & Kashmir, Confirms MLA Ajaz Jan”: SRINAGAR: Nine people have died and 33 others have been injured in ongoing cross-border shelling in Poonch district, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Ajaz Jan said on Tuesday.
Jan visited District Hospital Poonch to review medical arrangements for the injured. He said the shelling was unprovoked and the situation in the area remains tense.
The MLA said he is in regular contact with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and is closely monitoring the situation. He added that the District Development Commissioner, Senior Superintendent of Police, Additional SP, and other civil and police officials are on the ground and coordinating with medical teams.Jan thanked the Chief Medical Officer and staff at the hospital for their continued work. He also said he is in constant touch with residents and will remain present through the crisis.
He urged citizens to stay calm and remain indoors, preferably on the ground floor, for safety.kashmir life.
