Prof. Nilofer Khan Gets Two-Year Extension as Kashmir University Vice Chancellor: Srinagar, May 16 (JKNS): Prof. Nilofer Khan has been granted a two-year extension as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Kashmir, starting from May 19, 2025.

The reappointment was confirmed through an official order issued by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who also serves as the Chancellor of the University.

The order, accessed by JKNS, states: “In exercise of powers vested in me under Section 12(5) of the Kashmir and Jammu Universities Act, 1969, I, Manoj Sinha, Chancellor, University of Kashmir, hereby re-appoint Prof. Nilofer Khan as the Vice Chancellor of University of Kashmir, for a period of two (02) years with effect from 19.05.2025, the date of completion of her existing term as Vice Chancellor.”

Prof. Nilofer Khan originally made history by becoming the first woman to serve as Vice Chancellor of the University of Kashmir. Her continued leadership is expected to further strengthen academic and institutional development at the university. (JKNS)
