Jio Phone 5G Launch Date Price in India: Reliance Jio is expected to launch a new 5G smartphone in India. The new 5G device has appeared on the Geekbench website, revealing its internals. It can be called Jio Phone 5G and it can be launched in the budget segment.
The company’s last smartphone was the Jio Phone Next, which costs less than Rs 5,000 and has 4G connectivity. Now, with 5G slowly rolling out across India, the brand may introduce the Jio Phone 5G.
Jio Phone 5G details leaked
A smartphone with model number LS1654QB5 has appeared on the Geekbench certification website (via My Smart Price). The certification reveals that it is powered by a chipset codenamed Holly. Looking at its frequency clock, it is believed to be the Snapdragon 480+ SoC.
It is an octa-core chipset clocked at a base frequency of 1.90GHz. It packs 4GB of RAM and boots on Android 12 OS. The device may feature Progress OS skin on top of Android 12. Pragati OS has local languages and some other UI features.
In terms of performance, the device scored 549 points in the single-core department and 1661 points in the multi-core department. These scores are good considering the budget segment.
Apart from this, there is no other information about the smartphone. However, all this information has been leaked from Geekbench. In such a situation, it is being speculated that the phone may be launched soon.
Jio has been tight-lipped about its upcoming phone but since Jio True 5G is rapidly expanding to multiple regions, we may see a 5G phone unveiled soon. If it is estimated, it can be launched next year.
When launched, it will go up against phones from Infinix, Realme, Tecno, Redmi and Samsung. In related news, the company recently launched Jio book in India. It features an 11.6-inch compact display and is powered by the Snapdragon 665 SoC. Its price is Rs 15,799.
