        Road Accident in South Kashmir: Driver Dead, Two Injured : SRINAGAR: A load carrier driver died while two others were injured after the vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road in the Verinag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

An official said that a load carrier bearing registration number JK13B-9592 skidded off the road, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to two others.

“The vehicle was being driven by Mohd Iqbal Poswal, son of Bilal Poswal, a resident of Reasi, Jammu. He, along with two passengers—Shahida Parveen of Heward Kapran and Mohd Khalil Chichi of Katra, Jammu—sustained injuries in the accident,” the official said.

The injured were immediately shifted to PHC Verinag for treatment. However, the driver, Mohd Iqbal, succumbed to his injuries at the facility. The other two injured persons were later referred to SDH Doru for further treatment.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further investigation. (KNO)
