SRINAGAR: In a statement issued by the Chief Engineer of Distribution, KPDCL, several scheduled power shutdowns will affect different regions of Jammu and Kashmir over the coming weeks. These outages are necessary for the augmentation of infrastructure and maintenance work to improve the power supply network.

On January 15, 2025, power supply to the areas of Chanapora, Natipora, and B&J Baghat will be disrupted between 11:00 AM and 02:00 PM due to the shutdown of the 33KV Rawalpora-Chanapora Bone & Joint line. This shutdown is required for the dismantling of HT poles situated along the roadside of the Grid Station Rawalpora.

Similarly, the 33KV Rawalpora Bagh i Mehtab line will also undergo a shutdown on January 15, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 02:00 PM, which will impact the Bagh i Mehtab, Kralpora, and Gopalpora areas.

On January 16 and 18, 2025, the power supply will be interrupted in Naidkhai, Markundal, Sumbal Ankhul, and Gundboon areas from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM. This is due to the shutdown of the 33KV Nehalpora (Pattan)-Markundal line for the augmentation of the conductor from 0.1 ACSR to 0.2 ACSR.

Additionally, on January 18, 2025, the 33KV Budgam SIDCO line will be shut down from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM to facilitate testing of 11 KV VCB Panel and 33 KV C&R Panel, along with power transformer and allied equipment. This will affect the Budgam, Ompora Housing Colony, Sebdan, Jawalapora, Budgam Town, and JNV areas.

Power supply to several areas, including Seer, Gur Seer, Peth Seer, Manz Seer, Rohama, Chakloo, and adjoining regions, will be disrupted on January 18 and 20, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 04:00 PM due to the shutdown of the 33KV Amargarh SIDCO line for stringing of Dog ACSR conductor and pole erection.

On January 18 and 22, 2025, the 33KV Nadihal Tap Line will undergo a shutdown from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM for stabilization and improvement of the 33 KV line. This will affect the Ajas, Bazipora, SK Bala, and Saudnara areas.

Finally, a shutdown of the 33KV Alusteng line will take place on January 18 and 21, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM. As a result, the power supply to Shuhama, Bakura, Darend, Nagbal, Fatehpora, Check Gadoora, Tulbagh, and Chunduna will be affected.
