Srinagar experienced its coldest night of the season, with the temperature dropping to -0.7°C, marking the city’s first sub-zero temperature this winter. The chill is a precursor to the intense cold expected in the coming weeks in Jammu and Kashmir’s summer capital.
Other parts of Kashmir recorded even lower temperatures, with Shopian in South Kashmir plunging to -3.9°C and Pahalgam registering -3.7°C, making the night chill significantly sharper across the valley.

Independent weather forecaster Faizan Arif confirmed that the ongoing dry weather pattern will likely persist across Jammu and Kashmir until November 23. The meteorological department has, however, predicted a wet spell following this period, signaling a potential change in weather conditions.
