After that, his performance in the tournament became doubtful. However, now Afghanistan has received good news. Rehmanullah Garbaz is expected to be fit to play in Afghanistan’s T20 World Cup opener against England in Perth on Saturday. Scans revealed that he had not sustained any serious injuries. Fractures have not been diagnosed in them either.
Any bone fracture
20-year-old Garbaz was taken off the pitch after an injury. He was later seen wearing a protective boot on his left leg. He was sent to hospital for a scan. The Afghanistan Cricket Board said in a statement that he is free from serious injury. “The team doctor said the result is clear and there is no fracture in the bone,” ACB said. “He will be assessed over the next couple of days and is expected to be available for our England match on Saturday.”
The previous World Cup was a flop.
Garbaz struggled in the final T20 World Cup in 2021, scoring just 85 runs in his five innings. Since then he has been progressing to bat on a consistent basis. He came out to open Wednesday. His presence will be a big news for Afghanistan ahead of their first match.
