Tenders Floated for 50-Km Baramulla-Uri Railway Line as Northern Railways Gears Up for Construction: Officials
The Northern Railways is gearing up to commence work on the Baramulla-Uri stretches in Kashmir, with tenders already floated for the project. This development is a significant step towards connecting the border area of Uri with the railways.
According to a top railway official, the Northern Railways is considering starting the Final Location Survey (FLS) for the new Baramulla-Uri line. Proposals are being invited by the Ministry for this purpose. The engineering survey work will involve using modern techniques such as Aerial Survey and DGPS leveling for the creation of DEM.

The overall track from Baramulla to Uri is expected to cover a distance of 50 kilometers. Chief Area Manager of Kashmir Railways, Saqib Yousuf, confirmed this development and expressed optimism that it would be beneficial for the entire region.
