An official said that the accident occurred in the Peerbal village of Frisal.
The truck, bearing registration number JK05AB-9876, hit the victim, identified as Zainab Junaid (3), daughter of Junaid Ahmad Sofi of Frisal. She died on the spot.
“Police arrived at the accident site promptly and took the driver into custody. The driver has been identified as Umer Rehman Mantoo, son of Ab Rehman Mantoo, a resident of Janjikulla Yaripora,” official said.
The truck driver has been arrested, and a case has been registered. (JKNS)
