Tragic Hit-and-Run Accident Claims Life of Elderly Woman in Central Kashmir

Elderly Woman Fatally Injured in Road Accident near Children’s Hospital, Bemina, Srinagar

In a tragic incident, an elderly lady from the Palhallan area lost her life in a road accident on Tuesday. The incident occurred near Children’s Hospital in Bemina, Srinagar. According to officials, an unidentified motorcyclist collided with a pedestrian identified as Raja Begam, aged 65 and wife of Muhammad Jamal Gojri from Palhallan.

The motorcyclist swiftly fled the scene, leaving the injured pedestrian behind. Raja Begam was immediately rushed to JVC Hospital in Bemina by her sister for medical treatment. However, upon arrival at the hospital, she was sadly pronounced dead.

Local authorities have taken note of the accident and the police have initiated an investigation into the matter. The incident has left the community in mourning, highlighting the importance of road safety and responsible driving to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
