University of Kashmir Department of Geoinformatics Job Vacancies

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following vacant project positions under two DST-sponsored research projects. The positions are initially for one year, extendable, and co-terminus with the projects.

Project Details & Vacant Positions:

1. Senior Project Associate (1 Post)

• Salary: Rs. 42,000/- + HRA
• Project: CoE for Glacier Studies
• Qualification: Ph.D. in Geoinformatics/Geology/Meteorology/Climate Science
• Desirable: 2 years of post-doctoral research experience in glaciology, climate modeling, or glacial geomorphology

1. Project Associate-II (1 Post)

• Salary: Rs. 35,000/- + HRA
• Project: CoE for Glacier Studies
• Qualification: M.Sc. in Geoinformatics/Geology/Meteorology/Climate Science with 60% marks
• Desirable: 2 years of research experience in any field of glaciology

1. Project Associate-I (1 Post)

• Salary: Rs. 31,000/- + HRA
• Project: CoE for Glacier Studies
• Qualification: M.Sc. in Geoinformatics/Geology/Meteorology/Climate Science with 60% marks
• Desirable: 1 year of research experience in glaciology

1. Scientific Administrative Assistant/Field Worker (1 Post)

• Salary: Rs. 20,000/- + HRA
• Project: CoE for Glacier Studies
• Qualification: M.Sc. in Geoinformatics/Geology with 60% marks
• Desirable: Experience in glacier fieldwork (preference will be given to male candidates)

1. Scientific Administrative Assistant (1 Post)

• Salary: Rs. 18,000/- + HRA
• Project: Capacity Building in Glaciology
• Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or B.Tech in Electronics & Communication/Mechanical Engineering, or BCA/M.Sc. Geoinformatics
• Desirable: Preference will be given to male candidates with soft skills

Important Details:

• Application Process: Applications can be submitted from 01 October 2024 to 13 October 2024.
• Interview: Eligible candidates will be notified via email or phone regarding the interview, which will be conducted either in-person or online at the National Ice-core Laboratory, University of Kashmir.
• Documents Required: Candidates should bring original documents related to qualification, experience, and publications at the time of the interview.
• Additional Information: The Principal Investigator and Selection Committee reserve the right to not fill the positions if suitable candidates are not found. The number of vacancies is subject to change based on project requirements.
