SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) and Jammu & Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (JKPTCL) have announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across various districts of Kashmir between May 11 and 20, 2025 to facilitate critical infrastructure works, including pole erection, conductor stringing, branch cutting, maintenance, and flyover-related modifications.
According to separate notices issued by the Chief Engineers of KPDCL and JKPTCL, power supply to dozens of areas will be temporarily disrupted to allow technical teams to carry out essential works on 33KV and 132KV lines.
On May 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the 33KV Railway/Kund Tap line will remain shut, affecting the Chowgam and Kund Receiving Stations, leading to outages in Kund, Waltengoo, Razloo, Chowgam, Lammer, Sopat, and nearby villages.
On May 11 and 13, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the 33KV Watrehail Tap line will undergo maintenance, impacting supply to Waterhail, Waterwani, Charangam, Sholipora, Dadina, and adjacent areas.
On May 12, shutdowns of the 33KV Budgam-Kremshore and Budgam-Ichgam lines will be observed from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, affecting Khansahib, Brenwar, Arigam, Shamsabad, and Hanjura, among others.
On May 11, the 33KV Nowbugh Chadoora and Nowbugh Charar-i-Sharief lines will remain off from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, disrupting supply to Chadoora, Panzan, Kakawring, Yousmarg, Nagam, and nearby locations.
On May 12, between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM, shutdowns of 33KV GIS Tengpora lines will affect KP Bagh, Jawahar Nagar, Rajbagh, Narkara, and Gangbugh. However, Exhibition and Batamaloo Receiving Stations will be supplied through alternate arrangements.
On May 19, a shutdown of the Cheshmashahi-Brein-Nishat line will affect power in Dalband, Tulip Garden, Nishat, BSNL Exchange, and adjoining areas from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Similarly, on 20 May, the GIS Theed-Shalimar line will remain off from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, affecting supply to Shalimar, Harwan, and parts of Chandpora.
Additionally, from May13 to 20 (on 13, 15, 17, and 20 May), shutdowns of the Delina-Wagoora line will affect Sangrama, Wagoora, Kreeri, Ichloo, and Kalantra from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Separately, JKPTCL has scheduled shutdowns on May 13 and 14 from 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM due to flyover-related modifications at Sanat Nagar Chowk. This will affect supply from the 132KV Bemina-Rawalpora transmission line, impacting areas including Allochibagh, Rambagh, Solina, Tulsibagh, Rawalpora, Sanat Nagar, Hyderpora, and Majeed Bagh
