Women’s T20 World Cup: Smriti Mandana vs Pakistan’:India’s vice-captain Smriti Mandana is doubtful for the match against Pakistan in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup tournament.
India-Pakistan match will be played on Sunday. Smriti injured her finger in the practice match against Australia on Monday and has not fully recovered.
It is not possible to say whether Smriti will be out of the World Cup tournament as she was injured in the practice match. “He is unavailable for the first match against Pakistan,” ICC sources said.
Smriti, 26, had batted at number three in the match against Australia. He was out after facing only three balls. He did not play in the warm-up match against Bangladesh on Wednesday.
Heroine Harmanpreet Kaur’s fitness is also a cause for concern. He suffered a shoulder injury in the final of the tri-series against South Africa last week.
A middle-order batsman, he did not bat in both the warm-up matches.
Two matches today: Two matches will be played in the World Cup tournament on Saturday. Five-time champions Australia will face the challenge of New Zealand in Group A. England – West Indies will compete in another match.
