Five KU Employees Suspended After Campus Altercation; Inquiry Launched

 

 

Five Kashmir University employees face suspension after a campus altercation stemming from a minor car mishap, as per officials.

Quoting by KNO,The incident involved Riyaz Ahmad Rather, Assistant Xerox Operator in the Chemistry Department; Mohammad Shafi Rather, Orderly in the Dean Education Office; Irfan Rather, Helper in the Construction Division; and Aquib Ahmad Wani, Helper in the Directorate of Distance Education.

The clash occurred outside the Allama Iqbal Library, escalating into a fistfight caught on camera. University students expressed concern, prompting strict action from the Vice-Chancellor.

An inquiry committee has been formed to investigate the matter. This marks the second such on-campus altercation, following a previous incident involving senior professors.

The University is keen on addressing these issues promptly to maintain a positive environment for students and uphold its public image.
